Delivery of Fiji commercial building and three story hotel project

Recently, as the transport convoy loaded with steel structure components slowly drove out of Canlong Group's smart factory, the core steel components of a commercial complex project in Fiji (including a 2-story commercial building + a 3-story hotel) have been packaged and shipped. It marks that Canglong Group's service capabilities in the field of commercial building supporting facilities in tropical areas have been further deepened.

Fiji is located in the tropical waters of the South Pacific and has a tropical marine climate with an average annual temperature of 26-30℃ and an annual precipitation of more than 2000mm. It is also affected by hurricanes in the northwest Pacific (7-8 times per year), high humidity in the air, and high salt spray concentration (chloride ion content of 0.08mg/m³). Ordinary steel is prone to rust due to electrochemical corrosion, resulting in reduced structural strength and even safety hazards.

The technical team of Canglong Group combined Fiji's "Architectural Structural Design Code (AS/NZS 1170)" and project requirements, and finally selected H-shaped steel, C/Z-shaped steel and matching purlins as the core materials:

H-shaped steel (section height 200-400mm, thickness 8-12mm): As the main frame of commercial buildings and hotels, it bears the main load-bearing function. Q355B low-alloy high-strength steel (yield strength ≥355MPa) is selected, combined with hot-dip galvanizing process (zinc layer thickness ≥85μm), the zinc layer evenly covers the steel matrix to form a physical isolation layer, which can resist high humidity and salt spray erosion. According to calculations, the service life in Fiji environment exceeds 25 years (ordinary steel components are only 8-10 years).

C/Z-shaped steel (section height 150-300mm, thickness 2.5-3.5mm): used for commercial building secondary beams, hotel roof support and curtain wall keels, with both lightweight and toughness advantages. The C-shaped steel with the opening facing upward can quickly fix the roof panel, while the Z-shaped steel can improve the overall wind resistance of the roof through staggered overlap (wind resistance level up to level 12), and the galvanized layer thickness is ≥70μm, ensuring durability in long-term exposure to humid environments.

Customized purlins (C-shaped steel, cross-sectional height 100-200mm, thickness 2.0-3.0mm): As the key node for roof load transfer, the length and curvature are customized according to the local large-slope roof design requirements of Fiji (slope 25°-30°), the galvanized layer thickness is ≥65μm, the surface is weather-resistant (anti-ultraviolet aging), and can be directly bolted to roofing materials such as color steel plates and metal tiles without additional anti-corrosion treatment.

To ensure that the components meet the requirements of the Fiji project 100%, the intelligent factory of Canglong Group implements strict control of raw materials, processing and testing in four steps:

Raw material traceability: All steel materials are Q355B hot-rolled coils from leading steel companies such as Baosteel/Ansteel. Each batch is accompanied by the original material report (including chemical composition and mechanical properties test data), and re-inspection before storage to ensure that there are no impurities and cracks.

Precision processing: Using CNC plasma cutting and automatic welding technology, the splicing error between the flange plate and the web of the H-shaped steel is ≤1mm, and the arc deviation of the C/Z-shaped steel after forming is ≤0.5°. All welding parts have passed UT ultrasonic flaw detection (first-level qualified standard) to eliminate defects such as pores and slag inclusions.

Finished product verification: Each component is subjected to triple quality inspections before leaving the factory, including dimensional measurement (error ±1mm), galvanized layer thickness detection (handheld XRF spectrometer), and salt spray test (500 hours without red rust), and is accompanied by an SGS test report recognized by Fiji to ensure that it meets the standards when leaving the factory.

Customized protection

The outer periphery of the frame is wrapped with waterproof Oxford cloth (to prevent high humidity and salt spray in sea transportation), and the key internal parts (such as the edge of the galvanized layer and welding points) are wrapped with EPE pearl cotton for buffering. The gap between C-shaped steel and Z-shaped steel is filled with foam strips to avoid collision deformation caused by transportation bumps. All packaging surfaces are marked with fragile surface marks, lifting point maps and component lists (in Chinese and English) to guide on-site personnel to operate accurately.

Full tracking

The Canglong International Logistics team completed the preparation of more than 20 documents such as the Fiji Customs Code (HS Code 7308.90.90), Certificate of Origin (FORM E) and Galvanized Layer Test Report (in compliance with AS/NZS 1170 standards) in advance, and cooperated with the local customs clearance agent in Suva (cooperation for 3 years) to connect with Nadi Port. It is expected that customs clearance will be completed within 36 hours after the container arrives and delivered to the project site.
